Step 1: BASIC

  • Go for Unscented products and essential oil-free products

When the skin behaves sensitive and the skin barrier is damaged one should prefer unscented products. There are many brands that manufacture essential oil-free products to avoid irritants. Such as while choosing the facewash, serums or any moisturiser like-

For Oily Acne Prone Skin-  You can go for products that have Centella, Green TeaWhite Lotus, Niacinamide kinds of ingredients. In the market, you can find White Lotus Moisturiser in both scented and unscented variants.

A proper skincare routine for acne-prone skin includes double-cleansing. Especially, for people having oily skin types. Excessive oil on the skin is troublesome hence a person would take double cleansing as the best option to deal with it. On top of it if you are having blemish-prone skin and acne-prone skin it is the best option.

  • pH Balanced Facewash

For oily acne-prone skin- Ingredients that would do wonders are Cica or Centella Asiatica, Panthenol, Green Tea and Glycerin. Suganda’s Centella Green Tea Facewash Unscented is the one that helps you battle against oily acne-prone skin. For double cleansing, you can use Squalane Cleansing Oil with it. A pH-balanced facewash is always recommended to use. 

For dry and combination acne-prone skin

For both dry and combination skin types it is important to use products that provides hydration to the skin. For double cleansing, facial oil is a must to clear the pores. People with combination skin can also use oil-based products as the first cleanser and followed by the facewash. A gentle massage with the fingertips would help the skin feel happy. 

Step 3: Hydrating serum / Mist / Toner 

Dehydration is one of the reasons behind the skin to become acne prone. To overcome it, there are many hydrating serums, mist or toners in the market. Mist is an underappreciated handy hero who can be extremely beneficial to the skin. Regardless of any skin type, a person can go for hydrating serum or mist or toner. 

It is a fluid that can be used as a spray. It contains some soothing and hydrating ingredients that help in oil control, minimize pore size and brighten the complexion. Skin needs proper hydration twice or thrice a day. This mist includes ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, tea tree oil, cica, vitamin C and niacinamide. Step 4: Exfoliating Serum

Skin needs exfoliators that can combat dead skin cells and makes the skin barrier intact so that the bacteria or other pollutants cannot rupture the wall. Exfoliating serums helps in reducing dryness, fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. 

For Oily Acne Prone Skin:

Because the skin is a sensitive issue that can be aggravated by the use of the wrong product. Hence, to deal with oily acne-prone skin, BHA exfoliating serum with 2% salicylic acid in it will be beneficial. 

For Combination Acne-Prone Skin:

Combination acne-prone skin can use 5% Mandelic Acid serum with 0.5% salicylic acid. It will gently exfoliate the skin and can be used three times a week as a night skincare routine. It will benefit by removing superficial peeling as well as clearing impurities and dirt from the pores. Normal skin types can also use this serum.

For Dry Acne Prone Skin:

People with dry, acne-prone skin can go for 5-10% Lactic Acid Serum as per their skin concerns. The ingredients in this product include hyaluronic acid that provides intense hydration as well as centella, which makes skin nourishing and soothing. 

After any exfoliating serum, moisturiser is required. Otherwise, it will come into direct contact with the environmental stressors risking the breakouts. After applying the serum, wait for 10 min before applying moisturiser. 

Step 5: Nourishing Serum

Niacinamide has a heroic identity because of its multifunctional properties. But, one characteristic of niacinamide is nourishment. Even you have oily, combination, dry or normal skin type, you can opt for niacinamide as it will soothe your skin in the best possible manner. Formulations range between 5-10% depending upon the skin sensitivity. Applying Niacinamide serum once a day will definitely give the expected benefits. 

Step 6: Moisturiser

You can skip all the other things for a while, but never skip using a moisturizer. Our first aim is to make the skin hydrated and save our skin barrier. On top of that if we can use sunscreen, then you have completed your skincare routine for acne-prone skin. 

A person can use White Lotus Moisturiser, Rosehip Moisturiser, and Calendula Oat Cream, for any type of skin respectively.
